Let me introduce myself

Hi, I’m Gary, the founder of Go Imagine Media. I have spent the last 15 years working in content development and production, with my recent focus being animation for kids and family audiences. During my career, I’ve had the pleasure of working with broadcast/streaming partners like Channel 4, Disney, FranceTV, Gulli, Rai, Tencent, Warner. Bros Discovery and YLE.

Having worked in the kids and family sector for many years, I’m a firm believer in the power characters and stories have in shaping young people’s worlds and their perspectives – this is a responsibility I don’t take lightly. I still think fondly of the shows that I saw growing up which allowed me to see outside of the little town I lived in. I’m particularly passionate about making sure that everyone sees themselves reflected on screens.

I really love the art form of animation from Chuck Jones classics to the evocative worlds of Studio Ghibli – most Saturday mornings I can be found eating cereal and watching cartoons.

Totally Spies

2D animated action-comedy for 6-11
26 x22′

Head of Development
& Executive Producer

I oversaw the creative development of a seventh season of the iconic Totally Spies, which saw the beloved spy trio return to screens after a decade. Bringing back this well-known IP brought about some really fun creative challenges, particularly around making it feel true to the original (for the existing fans) while also appealing to a brand new gen-alpha/gen-z audience. Following green-light I was attached as creative executive producer – working closely with our production teams and the broadcaster, I helped to ensure that the creative vision we conceived during the development translated to the final product.

Since launch the series has established itself as a firm favourite with new audiences and existing fans. In June 2025, on Gulli (France) it has 27M on air viewers and over 26.5M across socials.

The Unstoppable Yellow Yeti

2D animated comedy for 6-10
50 x 11′ + shorts: 11 x 2′

Head of Development
& Creative Producer

Created by the incredibly talented and creative co-founders of Gigglebug Entertainment in Finland. I headed up the co-development of this brilliantly funny series. The original idea was inspired by the experiences of director Joonas Utti, growing up in a small rural town. It was such a pleasure to be involved in translating this lived experience through a comedic lens, folding Finnish culture into universal stories for young audiences everywhere. Following commission, it was then all about making sure the creative for this series delivered for the needs of our broadcast partners.

Mumfie

CGI comedy for preschoolers
78 x 7′ + podcast

Head of Development
& Creative Producer

I lead the creative development of this CGI reboot of 2D series The Magic Adventures of Mumfie. The process was very rewarding and I worked closely with creator Britt Allcroft (Thomas the Tank Engine & Friends) to ensure her original vision was honoured in this new iteration. We utilised audience insights to guide the process and define what key elements resonated with today’s preschool audience, while retaining the universal themes present in the original. Taking the series from 2D to CG afforded us the opportunity to do something visually arresting, we approached Japanese designer Mr. Yoshii who I worked with to define the new character aesthetic for main character Mumfie. We also worked with coproduction partners, Animoka Studios, who really helped bring this series to life on screen.

During development this was awarded the Cartoons on the Bay Pulcinella Award for “Best TV Pilot” in 2018 and following production it won “Best Preschool Series” in 2022.
